What Was Done
This was a big project. Working closely with the writing and editing team at ToucanEd, Inc. on the Infection Prevention Lessons for Children, I designed many components for this health education lesson campaign.
Scope of work:
- page layout design for lessons, activity pages, fact sheets, and teacher background pages
- binder cover and spine design
- distinct icon designs
- posters and pamphlets layout design
- original cartoon illustrations
- Keynote presentations
- video and audio editing
I also designed the same components for the upper grade levels, Infection Prevention Lesson for Teens.
Why It Was Done
The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the importance for education about effective ways to help stop the spread of germs. Topics address handwashing, covering coughs, and staying home when sick. There are two lessons appropriate for young children grades K to 2 and two lessons appropriate for grades 3 to 5. They are suitable for school settings, after-school programs, daycare centers, and home schooling. Distance learning adaptations are included for each lesson. Narrated adaptations for the pamphlets are included as Keynote presentations. Digital downloads are included for activity sheets, fact sheets, and family materials.
