“That is epic Jack! Really cool.”
What Was Done
On weekends, I let my son play Minecraft at the library for an hour before we head out to do more social or outdoor activity’s. While he was engaged with the game, I started sketching an octopus (which is one of my go-to “things to draw” when I’m out of ideas). In about 45 minutes or more, I had a pretty cool looking sketch.
I posted it on my LinkedIn Profile, and put it out there that I will finish the illustration using Adobe Illustrator. The post got a few likes and comments, and now I knew I had to actually finish it. A month or so went by and I finally found the time to sit down and render all the detail, from suction cups to each curve of the tentacles. It took about ten hours to complete, but I got it done, posted it back onto my LinkedIn page (a promise is a promise), and it got a bunch of likes. So I posted it on my Instagram page and my Twitter page where it got even more likes.
I’m hoping to get my octopus illustration printed on kids t-shirts and maybe some sticker soon. Maybe even on a boogie board, that would be cool!
